s/o from Kle's workout dilema

I have a sort of similar situation.  I'm trying to fit 30 minutes in every day to do the 30 day shred video.  Logistically, I should do it while Allison is awake because I have to do it in my room which is right across the hall from hers.  I can't do it in the living room (no space) so the bedroom is the only option.  Here is my day, where would you fit it in?

5:00 Wake up, shower, eat get ready for work (not negotiable!  I will NOT wake up at 4:30!)

6:00 Get Allison up and ready for the day

6:15 Out the door

5:00 Home

5:30 DH wakes up, family time

6:00 Start bedtime with Allison - DH gives her a bath, I put her pj's on, DH puts her down, I start dinner

7:00 Dinner/pick up/time with DH/etc

9:30 Bed!

I'm considering having DH do all of bath/bedtime and starting my workout when he starts her bath.  It would mean dinner is more like 7:45 though and I would only get about an hour with Allison at night.  I could try after she is asleep but I don't remember how "loud" the workout is.  I don't know...what do you think?

  • It doesn't take me long to get ready for work, so I would do it right at 5 or I would do it when you get home.  Can you set Allison up somewhere to play while you do it?  With all of the moving around in the video she might be entertained just watching you do it.  Or do it at 5:30 when H gets up and have 5:30-6 be father/daughter time.

That's an awesome workout!  I did it for a while and loved it but I am not comfortable doing it in our condo because we live on the second floor and with all of the jumping jacks and whatnot I feel like I'd be making too much noise for the people below me.

  • I have no advice to offer. Just wondering. Does Allison STTN? I was all set to wake up at 5 this morning to go for a run, but after the night we had there was not a snowball's chance in heII that was happening. Does it just get easier? Or does your baby actually sleep?

I was going to get up at 6:30 today (H is off today and is home with the girls so I had an extra half hour this morning) to go to the gym and then the fussing and grumbling started at 4:45.  They didn't wake up until 6 but made just enough noise to keep me awake.  I don't know how H sleeps through it.  But I was exhausted and there was no way the gym was happening.

  • You would consider it STTN, she wakes up a couple times at most and I just need to give her back her pacifier and she goes back to sleep (for some reason she won't find it on her own).

Sometimes it is worse, sometimes better but that is average.

  • It's not a loud workout IMO, and I would just do it after she is down.  OR right as soon as you walk in the door makes sense to me.  I hate this struggle, I want to start it in mid February, and with homework for the two older girls, cooking dinner, dinner, baths and bedtimes for all three kids, then getting things ready for the next day, finishing up miscellaneous work stuff held over from the day... I don;t know when I will do it, except after they are asleep.  (DH travels for work so I am on my own).  I am not excited about working out right before trying to go to sleep but am planning to give it a shot.
