Re: How was everyone's weekend?

  • Awesome! It's still going on. DH has the day off today so we are going to just hang out and go pick up my new to me counter top dishwasher!

  • Not too bad. I did some freelance work and made some good money. I also cleaned the house really well, and was able to even relax between all that. :)

  • Not too bad!  Did a little shopping, did a little cleaning.  DH re-installed our basement banister and installed a new gate at the top of the stairs that we desperately needed.  Nothing too exciting.  DD was in a pretty good mood all weekend, after cutting a tooth last week.  Hopefully that lasts!

  • How was yours?!

Our weekend was decent. DD is back in teething hell, 5 nights of up every two hours with a low fever and a crappy mood to go along with it. I hope it's over soon!
Saturday DH worked in the morning, I went to a stamping party and made 10 cards. I then met up with my BFF for some continued weddind dress shopping, followed by grocery shopping alone!! Sunday DH let me sleep in and he watched DD most of the day so I could meal prep.

  • I feel accomplished.  We had DS1's make up 3rd Birthday Party with the ILs.  I visited my grandmother in the hospital.  It looks like she's coming home to live with my aunt...  My MIL and I are coordinating home assistance while my aunt is at work.  Hoping this all works out because she really doesn't have money for assisted living.

At home Jay built the dogs a dog run, cleaned up the back yard and I ripped the chair rail and moulding off the walls in the living room and hallway.  Getting some spackle today to patch any of the small nail holes and then getting to painting.  First couple of steps toward taking our home back to stock, so that we can get it ready for the market.

  • Meh.

DH worked from 7 am till midnight on Saturday so we barely saw him.  He had to finisht the job Sunday and then tonight he has to go back again because the owner of the car decided to try to install something himself and now the car is not driveable. And I suspect the guy blames DH which, it's not his fault. DH has worked every single day for over a month, 15 hours a day and is physically and emotionally DONE, so there's that. All in preparation for us to get into this house.

Yesterday we got to attend church and bible stufy together so that was fun but his insomnia gives me insomnis.

Lincoln woke up in the cranky side of the crib this morning but I am hoping it is not an indicator of the day to come.

Enough whining from me. Life is actually very good and very blessed, just looking forward to having DH back to us.

  • Pretty darn good :)

We invited friends from the girls' swim classes for lunch on Saturday. I think this can count as DD1's first "real" playdate, as it was the first time we had a friend of hers over (other than her birthday) and they really played together (as in, they took off to her bedroom and played on their own).

Both girls had a blast and then we all enjoyed a nice nap.

Saturday night was just low-key with the hubs.

Sunday morning was running errands and grocery shopping. We went out to play in the snow for a bit after lunch, before the weather just turned plain nasty (it went to +1 or +2C to -15C with crazy winds in a matter of hours. We had rain, hail, and snow on the same day!).

The girls took a fairly long afternoon nap, so DH and I had some much needed "Mr and Mrs" time. Yes, that means what you think it does, but it also means we cooked and cleaned together and just talked about stuff. We need to do that more often - We are both in such a great mood today. lol

We invited our neighbours over for dinner and that was nice and relaxing, too. They have a 2.5 month old, and every now and then, DD1 would go "Ba-Ba" (ie Baby) and point at him excitedly. She was really curious of him and as soon as dinner was over, she went over to have a closer look. DD1 was also very curious and she asked my neighbours about a million questions about "Baby Tom-Tom".

And then last night I passed out on the couch before it was even 10, I think. lol

  • Boring. Next weekend should be fun though. My grandparents are taking me to the Casino for a belated birthday gift. I'm not much of a gambler but I'm very excited for the buffets. Casino food is always good.
