I think my plan is to trash all of the parts that wear out- the valves and membranes, and anything else that is not in pristine condition, and the rest I am putting in a rubbermaid and storing for the next time around. I have heard that the motors eventually wear out, though, so I may have to research that.
I am totally jealous that you are done, BTW. Congrats!!!

I will probably toss the valves and membranes and keep the flanges and everything else. Hopefully everything will fit in the bag, otherwise it will go in a tupperware container until LO #2.
I will be tossing all the parts and just buy new pieces with the next one. I might however keep the flanges cause when Jackson was born he was in the nicu and the hospital provided me with the parts. Well the nurse didn't check the size of flanges and they were to small and I ended up getting scabs and had a rough time with the pain. So I'll keep those to make sure I have the right size next time. The pump will get stored in a Rubbermaid. I quite like 2 weeks ago and I still have it out just in case. I'll pack it away when Jackson turns one!
I emailed medela. I'll let you know when they respond. I'd think it shouldn't be stored at extreme temps like in attics or garages. But that's my guess.

Awesome! That's what I was thinking. Maybe I can store it in his closet, or something. I was also wondering about the motor. Mine definitely seems slower then when I got it, but it got a lot of use.
I kept the pump between DS and DD. I washed everything and stored it all in my closet. When I had DD I got new membranes and tubing and just boiled the rest to sanitize it. Everything stayed fine and DD and DS are 2y9m apart. I BFed DS until 1y and plan on doing the same with DD (went back to work at 4m with both) and my Medela PISA is still working fine.
Right now I am storing everything, just in case something happens and I need to use it while I'm weaning. The plan is to buy all new parts next time, or BETTER YET get a free one because ObamaCare made it mandatory to provide a free one if you have health insurance!!
