Which kinds plug into the wall? My SIL just told me to register for one that plugs into the wall and I didn't even know this was an option! I would rather have a plug into wall option than guzzling batteries.
This sounds like my post! I know several Graco brands plug in the wall. Also, if you go to Babies R Us online and look at their swings, they have it listed in product features. The Graco I wanted actually had a demo video on their website. Hope that helps.
The FP swing that we registered for plugs in and I'm so happy that it does. I was never organized enough in the past to have extra batteries laying around and we always found ourselves in a predicament when the batteries died. Babies R Us is a great suggestion. That way you can see everything and their associates are typically very knowledgeable.
I bought the fisher price luv u zoo swing, and it plugs in as well as being able to take batteries. Haven't set it up yet, but it looked good in the store!

This is the one we have. We bought this one last time specifically b/c it plugged in.
FWIW - We have the matching vibrating bouncer which uses batteries, and DD was in that bouncer ALL THE TIME (not so much the swing), and we only had to change dead batteries once.

Re: S/O swings...
Yes, this is the one we registered for!! Also nice because it moves in different directions.
I know this one does --

You just have to read the product specs and user reviews to determine which ones plug in and which ones don't. Or check when you go into the store.

I bought this one. It is a swing / bouncer and uses a plug or batteries. i liked that I didn't need to buy a bouncer also.
