Can someone explain the logistics of this?

I want to start running before work. Right now, I wake up, shower, feed L, pump, and then get ready for the day. How do I fit running in? Ideally, I'd just do it before everything I just listed above, but are my boobs gonna be upset about being strapped into a sports bra before I empty them? I usually try to work out soon after I feed L.

or will this not be a big deal? Should I just pump both sides before going for a run, and then she can have a bottle when she wakes up? Tell me how to work this!

  • Do you plan on pumping after she turns 1? If so,I would wait until you wean that and then add in your work out. How engorged are you when you get up? If you're not, and I assume you will wake up earlier, then it probably won't be a problem.

Have fun running! I am trying to sign up for a race or two for motivation.

honestly, I'm not sure what I plan to do when she turns one. I am really hoping to drop that am pumping session, but how full I am in the morning varies greatly day by day.

i guess I can just try it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Good luck! I feel like a lot of parenting is trial and error, and sometimes I just want the answer without trying!

  • I would get up and run first thing. Your boobs will adjust.

  • Can you wake up, feed, pump, run and then shower? Or is that too time consuming?

The only reason I don't think this will work is that when L is up, she's up. To be to work on time, I'd have to have her up by 5:45, and I'm not sure DH is going to be so excited about that idea :-/

  • My boobs don't get rock hard in the morning anymore, so if you have a very snug sports bra, you might be alright if yours don't get that engorged anymore either. If they do, I would just pump first and feed a bottle. It might save you getting up too much earlier too because your DH can feed the bottle and you skip the nursing session.
