I know this is the natural birth board so hopefully most of you ladies haven't had experience with C/S, but you are educated about birth and I consider you to be like-minded mamas so I'm curious as to what you think you would do in my situation.
I posted the other day about discovering at my MW appointment at 40w, 1d that baby had flipped breech sometime in the week leading up to that appointment (I *think* it happened at 39w, 6d, but not sure about that). Since then we've been doing everything we can to get baby to flip back to vertex, but as far as I know it's been unsuccessful. I'm nearly sure that she's still breech.
We have an appointment with my MW tomorrow (I'll be right at 41w) where they're going to check baby's position again via U/S. We're still doing what we can, but I'm really not counting on a surprise tomorrow
At last week's appointment they already recommended scheduling a C/S so I know if baby is breech they will again recommend a scheduled C/S. I was not at all comfortable with scheduling a C/S last week because I wanted to try what we could to flip baby and give her some time to see if she did flip back.
I realize things are a little different at 41w and we're also only getting further away from when baby flipped and she's only getting bigger (i.e. the small likelihood that she was going to flip back is only getting smaller and smaller as the days pass). If we choose not to move forward with a scheduled C/S they will require that I have additional monitoring 2 days out of next week, and I also know they're really not going to want me to go past 42 weeks, so basically we're looking at one more week even if we choose to do nothing and then I would still end up with a scheduled C/S if baby hasn't chosen to come yet.
So, what are your thoughts? What would you do in my situation? I know a lot of people don't understand why I have waited this long, but I think you ladies probably will. To me, there's a difference between letting labor begin spontaneously and KNOWING that we waited as long as possible for baby to turn, but she decided it was time to come vs. scheduling a C/S and just giving up on that small chance that she will turn again. Is it worth waiting much longer in your opinion? Surely the chances are extremely, extremely slim that baby will turn again and I'm sure that her being in an unfavorable position are also somewhat holding up the labor process so I don't even know that I will go into labor in the next week. Do you think I will regret the decision if we decide to schedule the C/S as we've been advised?
I hate this whole situation by the way. I hate that it's going to end in a C/S either way it's only a question of how I want to get there

I would schedule the RCS to appease my caregivers and get them off my back a bit. But I would not give up hope just yet either. Sending my love mama
Come on baby and find the exit!!
This. I'd schedule for 41.5 so you have a few more days but please the MWs. So sorry she hasn't turned back for you.

Thanks for weighing in ladies, I appreciate it!
I had my 41 week appointment today, which happened to be with my favorite midwife, so that was nice! Baby is still breech and doesn't seem to be moving anytime soon. She's complete breech with both her bottom and feet (legs bent at the knee) tucked down in my pelvis. After discussing the pros/cons with my midwife we decided to go ahead and schedule the C/S for Wednesday morning. We're still going to keep up with the exercises and such until then in hope she will flip, but I think we're pretty much out of time barring a miracle
The doctor who will be performing the C/S is actually not the OB at my current practice because he is on vacation this week, it's his back up from a different practice so my MW said I'm welcome to ask him the morning of the surgery if he will perform a version. She doesn't think he will, but couldn't say 100% what his stance would be on it, so I plan to ask. (For PP who asked about a version... I was told it wasn't an option for me based on being so far along and having had a prior C/S. The OB at the practice wasn't willing to try as well as the more higher risk MFM OB that they refer patients to. I also contacted my local ICAN leaders to see if they knew of anyone I could contact and they said they didn't know of anyone who would perform a version on my under the circumstances).
I really appreciate all of your support and positive thoughts. It helps knowing that we have good vibes coming our way!
