non-mobile babies?

Looks like there are a lot of adventurous June babies with all the crawling & standing!

DD is in no hurry to do anything. She likes sitting up, but when she slumps over & lays down she just sort of whines until I sit her back up. No attempts to sit up on her own, crawl, or pull up on anything. When I hold her hands to stand her up, she bends her legs & won't put weight on them. I joke with DH that she's kind of lazy. On the bright side, I can hold off on baby proofing for a little while! Anyone else have "lazy" babies?

  • You just described my little sweetie to a T! Loves to sit, but has to be put that way, and can't correct herself once she flops over. She's so pleased with herself for sitting, I think it's going to take her a while to get bored with it!

  • Yep. She does roll around on the floor though and will kind of turn herself in a circle while on the floor so I think she'll at least be army crawling soon. She can't go from sitting to laying or laying to sitting. Whenever I stand her up, she starts bouncing like she's in her bouncer. lol

My LO loves to jump... I bounce him a little and ask him if he is a jumper and I always get a big smile!

Cute. lol Mine will even being sitting on the floor or in our lap and start bouncing on her butt by kind of throwing herself forwards and back. It's why she still falls over a lot while sitting. I kind of think she might end up being a butt scoocher because of how much momentum she gets when she does it.

  • my LO learned how to sit unassisted at 5 months... and that is all he likes to do. sit. :)

in the past two weeks he has gotten down the 360 turn in both directions and he loves to stand holding onto my fingers... but he definitely prefers to sit and play for long periods of time. :)

  • Same here.  One of my boys has no desire to roll over or sit up.  He loves being on his back.  I give him tummy time, but he's over it after 15 min.  I'm not worried...yet.  My other boy is about to crawl & just started sitting up on his own.  Maybe that will motivate the other one.

  • Same.  She doesn't really like to sit, she stiffens out and would rather be standing.  She loves to stand but isn't in to holding on to anything or pulling herself up.  She can roll and prefers her belly, but when she's there she doesn't make much of an effort to crawl.  I'm in no hurry!
