  The offer we made on the house was conditional to us selling the condo by Feb 8. Since nothing was happening, DH and I had started talking about just taking the condo off the market if it didn't sell by then and remodeling it instead.

  Hopefully not!  There was a bunch of random stupid stuff we had to fix.  We had to pin a bunch of loose wires hanging from the rafters in the basement and end a bunch of random lines in junction boxes.  DH ended up ripping most of the dead wires out.  It was a bit ridiculous and none of it was mentioned on our inspection when we moved in OR things had changed that much in a few years. 
  

  What a PITA! That's the sort of thing I'm afraid of. There was nothing majorly wrong when we bought the condo 4 years ago, so I don't see why it would be any different today, but still...
