Have you given your LO meat?

My LO is 6 months (almost 7) and I've tried giving him pureed meats (homemade) a handful of times. He hates the texture; I don't blame him either.

So I think I'm just going to wait a while til I give it to him again. I don't think its that important right now. He eats veggies and fruits perfectly and still has formula as his main nutrition.

Have you given tried giving your LO meat?

At that age, I started giving Ds shredded chicken, which he loved. Pureed meats are gross.

I know! The texture is super grainy. My LO has only 2 teeth though. I don't know if he could handle shredded chicken at this age.

I give LO meat. I mix it with a fruit or veggie on the spoon to help with the texture.

I've been giving DS (6 months) meat for a few weeks now. We just chop it up into tiny tiny pieces and mix it with his oatmeal and/or veggies. He doesn't have any teeth yet but seems to be doing just fine with the meat.

Pureed meats sound disgusting. I don't think they need teeth to eat meat - if we waited for them to have a full set of teeth before eating meat we'd be waiting until they were 2!

My DD has 2 teeth and has been eating meat since she was about 7 months old. She eats salmon, ground beef, and chicken on a regular basis. I just make sure to shred it or cut it small enough for her to handle.

You can chop it smaller, then. They are good at mashing with their gums, even with only a few teeth.

Yea, she doesn't like the pureed kind unless it's mixed with something. She'll eat shredded chicken and stuff.

We just gave LO meat for the first time yesterday. We used a recipe for a puree with chicken, onions, sweet potato, apple, and chicken broth. It was surprisingly good! (And thank goodness she liked it, because the recipe made a ton.)

We do BLW and gave dd shredded pork from Chipotle on Saturday. She LOVED it

We did BLW. My LO's second food was a nice big chunk of steak! He loved sucking and gnawing it. He's also had chunks of turkey. We've offered chicken but he hasn't been interested yet. Meat is a great early food because it provides iron.

We gave her chicken mixed w/ vegetables (blended) yesterday. She liked it.

Ds loves chicken if I blend or shred it with chicken broth so it's almost soup. He just sucks it back. He's really not a fan of any other meat though, although he does like beef gravy. He liked pureed turkey soup I made too.

Same. Mine really loves pork.
