With a toddler and twins on the way, we're looking to slim down our car seats to fit 3 across. I've read that the Diono Radian is one of the slimmest convertible car seats available.
Anyone have any thought about choosing the R100 vs. R120 vs. RXT?
Thanks!
Re: Radian 100 vs. 120 vs. RXT
We have two radians, a Radian 65 (now the R100) and an XTSL (now the RXT). By the time they were FF (not until outgrowing it RF) both of my kids greatly preferred the 65 because the side wings on the XTSL left no room for their shoulders.
The main difference between the models is weight limits, which are close to irrelevant anyway (the vast majority of kids outgrow carseats for height light years before hitting the weight limit).
Also just an FYI, the radian is pretty much useless as a booster, so don't plan to use it for that. The minimum weight to use it in booster mode is 50 lbs, but it's outgrown for harness and booster mode at the same time height wise. My older one outgrew it for height at barely 40 lbs. My younger one is stockier and looks like she'll outgrow it for height around 45 lbs. So neither would be able to use it as a booster at any point in time. Apparently this is not uncommon.
