My BFF told me about Color Wonder during a playdate so I got
this travel set for DD and it is a lifesaver especially in the car. The markers can only be used on Color Wonder paper. So no messes on the walls or couches. They have finger paint and a whole line that is mess free. I love it!
Re: Color Wonder by Crayola
A friend got DD some Color Wonder stuff for Christmas. DD loves that she can use markers to color. DH and I love that she won't ruin clothes or anything else while coloring!
I like that travel set. I'm going to look into getting that too!
We think they're kinda lame. When you color on the paper it takes a minute for the line to appear and that's weird when you're trying to color in a picture or draw something. My DD hasn't really liked them and my nephews didn't either.

DS got that travel set for his 2nd birthday and I thought it would be really great buuuuut.... he threw the markers everywhere with their caps off and ruined them, and really didn't color.
He does love the Color Wonder though, and I do too! We just bought a bunch of different Color Wonder items to go in his "big brother" bag. He loves to color, and it'll be nice for him to be able to do so at his Grandma's without me having to worry about him ruining something.
I'm with those that don't like the markers- my kids don't like them, more specifically. The delay between drawing & seeing something puts a big damper on it. I haven't pulled them out in awhile, maybe now that they're older they'd be more patient (they're 3 1/2) but they also can use real markers more responsibly now.
HOWEVER, I highly recommend Water Wow for low mess, easy road trip fun, it dries & you can use it over & over. Also the Color Blast pads & markers, they are like color wonder but color shows up right away & it is just one marker and the picture shows up in all the colors. Neither one is good if kids are trying to be creative/artistic & draw, but good for entertainment factor, esp under 3 when they mostly scribble.
I would rather just get regular washable markers and paints and teach him how to use them correctly, and supervise him while he uses them. And then when we are done, put them up on a high shelf until next time.
I'm not a fan of the color wonder - but I am too cheap to buy them. I would rather just buy the regular markers and paper when they are on sale at the beginning of the school year and stock up.
