Food find for GD

I love ice cream, however it will send my BS through the roof, so I abstain. Anyhow, I found a decent replacement by Artic Zone. The whole pint is 14gm of protein and only 24 gm of carbs. It is made with whey protein, but oddly enough, the ingredient list isn't a litany of artificial ingredients.

It isn't ice cream, but it will do.

Re: Food find for GD

  • Just be careful with that..I remember not too long ago, Arctic Zone was featured on one of the news shows (Good Morning America maybe, not sure but it was on in the break room when I got to work in the morning) and they were talking about how some independent studies had show than Arctic Zone's nutritional label was pretty far off (I think they mostly focused on calories, but I don't remember for certain)

  • They make a low carb ice cream no sugar added... Breyers, one stick is 13g of carbs.

also the slow churn ice creams.. 1/2 c is 15g of carbs

skinny cow no sugar added ice cream sandwiches are 30g of carbs for 1 or their truffle ice cream bars are 20g of carbs...

not much protein, but you can add a protein into your snack with the ice cream! Just everything in moderation.

  • Arctic Zone was disgusting the one time I tried it. Completely not worth eating, imo. I eat no-sugar-added Dreyers Slow Churned - a normal 1/2c serving has no negative affect on my numbers.
