Anyone have an Equinox with multiple carseats?

We are trying to decide which car to buy. I want a small SUV and am looking at the Chevy Equinox. My son is in a convertible carseat, and we are expecting our second in July. My questions are 1. Is it possible to fit 2 seats next to eachother and 2. Does anyone have 3 in a row? We may or may not have a 3rd child. I'm thinking by that time, I would have 1 booster, 1 convertible, and 1 infant seat in the back. Does space allow for this?

Thanks for your help!

  • We have a crossover like the Equinox and I don't think you can get 3 seats in the back. I would imagine that you should get something with a 3rd row. We are having our 2nd in June and I'd love to get something bigger since we'll never be able to have anyone else in the car with the kids :(

  • We bought the Equinox when I was expecting #2.  No, they can't fit next to each other.  When DS came along DD's convertible was RF-ing behind the driver's seat and DS's infant seat was behind the front passenger's seat.  There was barely any room in the middle, only enough to put a basket to hold their books and toys.  This car is perfect for us since we're done at 2.  There's enough trunk space to hold an umbrella stroller and still fit groceries and a box of diapers.  It can also fit our Britax B-Ready with the second seat and room for more.

  • We had an equinox.  We had my older daughters Britax and my sons carrier at the time and the back seat was full to the point where an adult couldn't sit in between.  When we put ds in a convertible the two seats had only four inches in between.  No way can u put 3across.  We bought an traverse because we needed the room.
  • I have a Saturn Vue and my cousin has the Equinox.  They are darn near the same car.  We both have a 2 yr old boy and a boy on the way.  We have our toddler boys FF behind the passenger seat, the baby carrier behind the driver and very little space in between.  We were just talking the other day about having to upgrade to bigger SUV's for our 3rd kids because the cars can barely hold the 2.  My DH is getting a mini van when this baby arrives and then when we pay it off I'm getting an SUV with 3rd row seating in time for the next baby.

  • I drive a 2005 Equinox and have on occasion fit 3 kids in the back seat,

a forward facing, an infant and a boaster.  It was definitely tight, but doable
