Toddlers: 24 Months+

toddler has cabin fever

Ok, it's winter and raining...all the time. My toddler just recently dropped down to one nap, meaning more time to entertain her all day. We are both going a little stir crazy. Not only that, but I work from home sometimes, so the combination of the weather and work demands is making my head spin. Plus I just hate that my kiddo seems bored sometimes. Mommy guilt. Anyone else feel this way? I've found some good ideas online. I like the Toddler Busy Book, and found a lot of cool ideas on my Kindle (www.amazon.com/dp/B009JJ4H5M). Any other advice?

  • Rain pants and rain coat. Then go outside! We live near Seattle if the rain and cold kept us in, we'd be stuck indoors for seven months a year!
Syne you're not outside as long each day, but getting out for a bit is still super helpful.

  • We were stuck at home for 4 days while my DD was sick and we were both going crazy.  I got out her old toys we put away to keep her entertained, gave her my pots to make soup from toy food and  thats about it.  I hate being stuck home but prefer not to take my DD to the mall or other public places during this horrible cold and flu season, she's been sick on and off since December.
