SS's morning quote

I had to stifle a laugh this morning at breakfast. We were all at the table and SS says 'Hunnie! I have a bed now!' (He has not had a bed in almost a year, sleeps in random places of the house. Be it the grandparents bed or the playroom couch or one of the uncle's beds...) I say 'oh wow that's awesome, do you like it?' he says 'Guess how much it cost? It cost 100 dollars! My mom is rich so she can buy it for me...' I said 'oh, cool... man I wish *I* had 100 dollars... your mom is quite lucky'. He says 'well, she is only rich because my dad gives her money. She doesn't have a job. Oh and Obama. He gives her money too. That's why my mom likes him now'. My cheeks got red and I had to turn away to DH and I mustered something to the fact of 'well I'm really happy you have a bed now. That's great'. The conversation ended with 'oh, and the best part? It turns into a couch!'. Oh my... what a conversation.

Re: SS's morning quote

  • Ha ha! That is so cute. The honesty that comes out of their mouths, hey?

My SKs come up with some interesting things as well. Sometimes it's a bit frustrating when they mention things about BM and what they consider to be the truth at her house (like the fact that their gaming system, computer and a few other things were stolen out of their garage in the fall. More like BM sold those things to purchase other stuff as is her regular practice). It frustrates me that the kids are lied to about so much much but I guess it's to protect them. *sigh*

  • Hahahahaha SS is awesome!! I love when kids are still at that age where they say things like this and are still innocent enough to have no clue what they're REALLY saying.

Thanks for sharing, I needed the chuckle!

  • I swear, kids have a better understanding of the world than anyone.

Sounds like he got a cool new futon, and I'm so glad he's so excited!!!

  • Too fun y the honesty and how kids see things but my heart breaks for that little boy, especially since he is so close in age to my DS.

  • Haha your SS is awesome!

So he calls you Hunnie instead of your FN? That's cute, I like it!

  • Too hilarious! I had to read this out loud to DH because I could so see this coming out of SS's mouth. He even asked if I wrote it! I laughed and told him no, SS has never told me that story (although some very similar), we both got a kick out of how familiar this sounds!
