Hi everyone. Last week I had terrible back pain but thought nothing of it (I have back pain on and off all the time). Anyway I started very lightly spotting on Sat. night-Dec. 22nd. Then I started bleeding moderately Sunday the 23rd and had cramping. I thought nothing of the cramping b/c I had it throughout my pregnancy and I dismissed it with the bleeding as another symptom (bc I hear all the time how common it is w/preg.). I also had my 1st OB appt. scheduled for the Dec. 26th so I thought I could hold out until then. Anyway Christmas Eve at 1 something in the morning the cramping was acting up and for a hour I tried to go back to sleep, didn't happen. Then all of a sudden I was in a lot of pain and the bleeding kept going, then I started throwing up so I had my husband drive me to the ER around 3am. I was supposed to be 8 weeks on Wed. the 26th, but they told me there was no heartbeat so they assumed I was earlier than I thought in my pregnancy. My blood test numbers came back in the 700s. I was told I had a threatened miscarriage and it could go either way. So I went home, took it easy, but later on that night (still Christmas Eve) I had the natural m/c. I knew immediately after it happened. For me it happened quickly. We told my MIL and asked her to keep it a secret for now until we can process this ourselves then decide who we wanted to know (she didn't know I was preg). So she took it upon herself to tell my DH's 3 siblings (that isn't all of them) b/c "they saw something was wrong by the look on her face." I should've known b/c she can't keep a secret for anything and is known to have a big mouth. I'm also annoyed b/c I have a feeling she told more ppl but keeps denying she did. Another family member (an aunt) wrote I was beaming in a photo 2 weeks ago on fb, and she conveniently just took it down after my m/c. I'm just glad we didn't tell anyone else about the preg. b/c I wouldn't feel like having to explain myself over and over again and having to answer the same questions. We were going to wait until the 12th or 13th week to announce b/c no one in our family can keep a secret. I think one of the worse parts (besides the m/c of course) is the sympathy looks I keep getting from the family members and they are all acting weird around me now-that's why I didn't want them knowing. DH has been very supportive and is treating me the same as he always does. Anyway I still don't feel 100 percent there, I'm just so tired and exhausted. I want to try again as soon as I am able to (the m/c was my 1st preg).

I'm really sorry that you're going through this. And I'm really sorry that you MIL took it upon herself to spread the news. It's such a personal thing.... It wasn't hers to share.
