Infertility

Injections start today to do IUI. Nervous??

Hello ladies!!  My DH and I have been TTC for about 7 mos. It has been a roller coaster for us.  Today, I have an appt. with my OB Dr. to give my first injection shot. In the next few days, I will be having an IUI done.  This past week, he did my ultrasound and saw that I have 2 eggs on the right and one egg on the left.  I guess thats a good thing, right?  I'm really nervous and hoping this IUI helps us conceive.  My DH is hoping that it works because then our baby would be born in October, his birthday month and our anniversary month. I'm praying that we will be blessed. Fingers crossed!!!

Re: Injections start today to do IUI. Nervous??

  • Good luck.

Quick question: You mentioned you are already doing fertility treatments after only TTC 7 months. Did your doctor find a medical condition that makes him think you will need more agressive treatment than continuing to try for the standard year? Also, i would be very nervous about pursuing fetility treatments (especially with injectables) with an OB and not an RE. Just curious! Its unusual to hear of a story like this.

  • My DH husband had a vasectomy about 11 yrs. ago and last May he had it reversed. So we went to my Dr. who is also an infertiity Dr. as well to be proactive last Septmber. My DH has low sperm count and low motility. Just our luck...
  • I'm really sorry to hear that. Good luck with your IUI

  • Good luck with your injections and IUI! I just finished my first IUI with injections on Wednesday.  The shots are never fun, but you get used to them. The procedure is pretty quick and relatively pain-free. I felt some mild cramping for about a day and a half and a little bit of pressure during the actual procedure, other than that nothing else. I am hopeful that one IUI is all it takes for the both of us!! My fingers are crossed for you too Big Smile
