I have the flu :(

Ever since I heard about the flu "epidemic" that's been going around I've been terrified of getting the flu and passing it to my DD. And lo and behold, today I came down with the flu. At least, I'm pretty sure it's the flu. I got tested at an urgent care clinic and it was negative, but the doctor said I have all of the signs and he suspects I just caught it really early so it isn't showing up on the swab test. He gave me some Tamiflu so hopefully that will help me get over it quickly.

I EP so I can get DH to give baby bottles, but it is really tough to not go soothe her when she's crying since I'm supposed to stay away from her. Any of you ladies have experience keeping your LOs well while you are sick?

    Sorry to hear this. Just wash your hands a lot and keep baby's hands clean. It's no fun trying to take care of a lo when you can barely take care of yourself! I am getting over the stomach flu now so fx my daughters don't get it!

    I just got the stomach flu overnight. Not fun :. DS1 had it the night before so it's been a tough couple nights. I'm so paranoid to get DS2 sick. DH is on kid duty today and all I hear is a complete sht show going on in the living room. Makes it not easy to relax and deal with this nausea :. Feel better!

    If your baby is only receiving BM then you should be pretty safe when it comes to any sort of throwing up/diarhea. BM latches onto the babies intestines preventing the transmission of any sort of virus or infection. I had a Terrible flu where I was sick every 5 minutes. I still bf my daughter and she was perfectly fine.

    I was going to post this myself today! I don't have the flu but an awful cold/cough etc. since DH is working I gave in and let's parents pick up D so I could rest. They are bringing him back around 8 so I can do his bedtime. Get rest! It helps
