Evidently he didn't think this was extraordinary behavior worthy of calling home to brag on.

This is awesome on multiple levels. :)

  • Dear School District Special Ed Dept. & Diagnosticians,

I appreciate you all for working and trying to help DS. I am glad I called for your help.

This has gone too long for him to exhibit the bad behaviors of biting professionals and me receiving negative phone calls. I constantly gave advice to help the teacher with tips from the behavior therapist.

I have gone down a road that has made me smile less with some depression to want to go home to DH and I's hometown where DS will receive even better service in a huge city compared to a small town. I have cried so much in frustration.

I smiled yesterday and will today that us being here will make our stay here pleasant despite a nothing-to-do kind of town.

    Thank you,

    Me

I talked to my mother this morning. DS arrived safely at her house in FL last night about 6pm.

He managed to pack what he needed for the trip, deal with security at the airport, find his gate, call the van service, find the proper van (in MCO- so quite a challenge), pay and tip the driver, and arrive in one piece. Evidently he didn't think this was extraordinary behavior worthy of calling home to brag on.

I would have been so worried the whole time waiting for the phone call. This is worth bragging.

Thank you so much for having kind words for us when you noticed that our daughter has Down syndrome! It was great to hear that you have siblings with disabilities and had a great upbringing! And it never hurts to hear that my kids are cute!

Dear Person who parked me in at Target,

I see by your various bumper stickers that you don?t have the time to properly park your car. (I took the time specifically to straighten out my car BTW) You are very busy with all the Causes you so passionately support such as the SPCA, Gay Marriage, No Guns, The Right to Choose, Go Vegans! and my personal favorite ?Glad I?m Not a Republican.? There is NO WAY you could have missed seeing my kid?s car seat when you squeezed your boney vegan ass through the 10? you left between our cars.
I have a suggestion for a new Cause for you. ?Cares about the person parked right next to me at Target?. I know it?s not as glamorous, nor does it have a sexy catch phrase or bumper sticker, but I need your ?support? too. It was a challenge to get my special needs kid into his car seat from the opposite side of the car, but I managed to haul my meat-eating, fat ass across the seat and get him in. His hand got pinched in the process and there were tears from two sets of eyes, so thanks for that as well.
Oh, and by the way, I?m glad you?re not a Republican too.
    Signed,
The person parked RIGHT NEXT TO YOU for whom you don?t give a damn about.**Disclaimer: I could care less what actual causes he/she supports. I support some of them as well. It was the parking like and azzhole while your car is tattooed with ALL the causes you "care" about that really cheezed me off.***

  • Dear GI,

l swear you are just trying to tick me off.  As if it wasn't enough that you made us come in for a visit to renew her feeding supply prescription 4 months before her yearly visit, you wrote the damn thing WRONG!  You tell me to increase her food from  1060 k per day to 1200 k per day.  Yet, you write 1000 k on the prescription you sent to the DME.  So if the voicemail I just left on your nurses line is less than patient, umm...I DON'T apologize.  I already had to call you twice to get you to fax it in the first place.  Ad then you don't write it correctly?????  It isn't that hard!

     Signed,

LA's mom who is seriously considering finding a new GI

  • Dear LA,

Thank you for being such a patient girl with all of our appointments lately.  Everyone comments on how good you are, and I am so proud of you.  I am sorry that mommy's dr. is making her do 2x weekly NSTs that you have to sit through.  I promise I will give you ipad time in return for your amazing behavior.  Just a few more weeks and your little sister will be here and then we begin a whole new adventure.

    love,

    mommy

    that's awesome!!!

  • for thankful thursday--i'm so grateful that when my son woke up today with a stomach bug, my husband who was out of town was on the next plane home to help out. that's a good husband. =)
  • Dear new nanny,

I am so happy for you and husband that you are 7 weeks pregnant. Being that you will be very pregnant in the hot summer months, I do not think we can have you work for us past June. I need my dd to be your focus. You have had the tv on far too much lately to trashy reality tv  and phoning in this job is not acceptable. I do not think you realize how uncomfortable the last few weeks can be. Also, if you do plan not to seek prenatal care like you said you were not going to do, it really concerns me.

Starting next week I will have a very detailed schedule and list of activities for you to do to engage my daughter. I am sorry, but you cannot come back after you have the baby if you want to bring him or her with you. The point of having you is for dd to have one on one attention. I am sure some may deem this as harsh, but my priority is my daughter and giving her the best advantages as I can in life.

    Sincerely,

    CEO Mom

  • Dear P,

I was prepared for todays news from your urodynamic study to be life altering.  But, more along the lines of will we move forward with traditional urethral cathing when you are ready, OR do we need to get prepared for the mitrofanoff procedure/baldder augmentation.
I was so NOT prepared for the doctor to say that your bladder, is almost back to perfect.  It's not enlarged, it has good tone, it is not neurogenic, your sphincter is working, IT"S ALL WORKING.
Thanks for laughing hysterically as I cried and hugged the doctor, and the doctor cried.

    I love you so much,

    Mommy

I can't believe our future isn't going to consist of how the hell to achieve social continence with a child who won't cath, or a surgery with a real mortality rate.  It's just incredible.

(her bladder contraction was a little longer than typical and not quite as smoothe, but not out of the realm of functional!  Thought process is that, the surgery she had in May to cause temporary incontinence took enough pressure off her bladder/kidney's to kind of reset it and help it heal)

DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

  • Dear social security officer,

If I guide you to YOUR website and read off disability qualifications.  How can you read it back to me with different words in the same sentence?
