We are going to transition dd from her crib to a twin bed next month
The one we have chosen to buy is big (they call it a king single here - it's a bit wider than a single in the states) and it's quite low to the ground.
I just don't know if a bedrail is really necessary?
Dh thinks it might help with the crib to bed transition
I dunno - I think maybe we just put pillows next to her bed for awhile - the carpet is soft too
WDYD?

This exactly for us too.
TTC since 11/05...ectopic pg 4/08...early m/c 6/09...BFP 10/5/09!

Nora B...June 15, 2010...8lbs, 8oz...Med-free birth!
TTC #2 since 7/11...cycle #3 of Clomid + IUI = BFP

Malcolm...September 21, 2012...8lbs, 6oz...Another med-free birth!
We are using a bed rail on both sides of his twin. However, we have a video monitor and it appears that he barely moves throughout the night. He used to be a non-stop squirmer in his crib, but he seems to stay in the middle of the bed. I do like the bed rails, though, because they make the bed feel a little more "enclosed" and I think it prevents him from wanting to get out on his own when we are not in the room.
ETA, also we have hard wood floors, so they are not soft!
I found this foam rail that's similar to a pool noodle; you put it under the fitted sheet. Did the job for us!
I've had friends skip the rail without any problems.

Where did you find a foam rail like that?
