Clothing gifts?

I am thankful that people have purchased clothes for little one. Of course gifts chosen tend to be based on the buyer and current styles.

What clothing trend are you done with?

For me: animal prints.

Just when she outgrows cheetah pants or zebra dress a new outfit with an animal print arrives. Even better, the latest one says I Love Mommy another trend I'm meh about. I don't actually care at all but it does crack me up...

I also don't love animal prints on clothing. Thankfully not a lot of boy clothes have those prints, but I have several nieces and my mom loves animal print so I get to see it in the same outfit, different size, all. the. time.

We've had the problem where the buyer doesn't think about DS at all when buying. He can't do zip up sleepers cuz of the tube, tshirts don't work again cuz of the tube, and I hate jeans on the boy cuz he's not walking. I have a SIL that buys him snap up onsies and my mom makes him larger sizes of snap up sleepers since they stop at 9 months.

You could always exchange things. I have only done it once with a newborn outfit, but that's always an option.

  • There are snap up sleepers up to 18 months or 24 months at Costco here. Would you like me to send some??

It's more fun to keep the gifts. Makes the giver happy and I don't really care at all.

  • I can get snap up sleepers clear to 18 months here.  Let me know if you want me to pick you some up.  I would gladly do that.

  • I can't stand clothes that say "I love mommy" or "Daddy's girl" stupid stuff like that.  It really stinks because I love the style of Cater's clothes but a ton of their stuff has those sayings.

That being said, I've never brought anything back.  I still have her wear it, just not as frequently as other outfits that I actually like.

  • Onesies! He already doesn't sit still for diaper changes and onesies make it ten times worse!

CountingUp and Carrie3102 - I can't quote you both at the same time. Do the sizes past 9 months have feet too? The nearest Costco is 3 hours away and there's no way I am making a special trip lol. DS fits into his 9 month sleepers so I'm not desperate yet. If you would come across a good deal though, I'm open to buying a few from you!
  • Yes they are footed

  • Yep definately footed.

I just got DD a few new pairs.  You said you don't like zippers right?  Just the snaps... I will keep my eyes peeled!

That's amazing! Footed snapped sleepers! I'm so excited now, and majorly jealous. Thanks guys!

I'm done with the sayings and onesies, but we still appreciate not having to buy the clothes ourselves, especialy since he plays hard and does art projects at daycare so they get stained anyway!

This, the ones with huge writing all over them like:
mama's little shopper or back seat driver or stop texting and pay attention to me... yeah, I have enough of those to last us a life time! ha. I just use them for under her jammies to keep her warm :)

  • Bibs! Every time MIL sees us she gives us a 5-pack of bibs. He hardly wears them and I've run out of room to store them all.

  • Tiny grown-up clothes - clothes that are cute but obviously not designed with a toddler in mind (like overalls with a ton of real buttons instead of snaps, clothes that are tight/scratchy, etc.) My MIL and grandmother are notorious for giving them, and I just return 'em and buy clothes DS will actually wear.
