We've had a potty for months. I put her on it now and then just to keep her interested in it. I won't full on potty train until she shows signs it's time.

We have a potty, and are trying to do things to help when the time comes to potty train. But we aren't going to actually start until the signs are much clearer and consistent.

In all seriousness though, I don't plan to even think about it until after 18 months. If my DD isn't PTed by then, then I want to try PT both kids at the same time.
We've had a small potty and she loves sitting on it and reading books. She is totally obsessed with watching us in the bathroom and if she notices someone's in there she screams POTTTTTTTY and runs down the hall and takes her pants off. She's started telling us when she's pooped and has to be changed right away. I'm not pushing anything but when she wants to sit we let her and I always praise her for telling us when she's gone. It's super hard not to be like uggggh not again when she does. She also loves flushing for us and waving bye bye to the pee pee.

This made me giggle. I have another potty obsessed baby, but I'm in no hurry to try training yet.

H got a potty for Christmas but it is still in the box and will stay there until we move in June. I will probably get it out then but only to get her interested in the thing. I figure I will start potty training at 2 which is when her DC starts seriously working with them too.
Probably next spring.. As in a yearish from now.
I want him to be ready and he will be about 2 and a half so sounds a good age to me!
This. A friend of mine had 3 kids and for no good reason she said she always PT'd the spring after her LO's turned 2...for some reason it just makes sense to me! Of course it will be helpful if C is showing interest in trying it too.
I potty trained my four nanny kids and did it right after they turned two. I will be doing the same with Gator. She has a potty now and occasionally sits on it without a diaper before getting in the bath but that is about it.
Maybe around two. I am not set on any particular time though. I plan on following his cues. We'll probably get a potty in the next month or two so he gets used to having it around.
Honestly, I am not even thinking about it yet. Probably when she is closer to 2 we will start thinking about introducing the potty to her. Right now I don't think she has enough control to be potty trained as she wakes up with a wet diaper each morning.
After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011! 7lbs 13oz 20 inches long ">
We have a potty and sometimes we put her on it before the bath and sometimes she sits on it while I sit on the pot and we read magazines. She doesn't get it, so we aren't going to push her-yet.
Re: potty training??
My 2.5yr old isn't even PTed! LOL!

We just got a "toilet training basics" pamphlet in our 15-month packet from the pedi.
It says that most children are ready by 24 months, but starting at 12 months you should:
- Teach your children "pee" "poop" "dry" "wet" "clean" "messy" and "potty"
- Have your child watch parents/older siblings whoever use the toilet.
- Teach him/her to come to you immediately whenever s/he is wet or dirty (and praise for coming)
So we're starting with that and waiting to see how it develops/when he starts showing signs. I'm not really basing it on a certain time/age.
