I started the blood type A diet a few weeks ago, and am seeing slow results. DH is also type A, and he has agreed to eat what I make for dinner without complaints. (Sometimes I do make him something completely off the diet that I won't eat) He eats the equivalent of at least 3 servings of cereal for breakfast, eats out when I am working and gets lunch out most days because he forgets to take leftovers. On top of it all, he eats 2x as much diet dinner as I do, and of course he is losing more weight than I am! What gives??? Just needed to vent for a second. If you ask DH, he'd say he is eating much healthier than I am (just because he is, and always has been thinner than I am). While I am sitting here eating buckwheat groats for lunch, he's probably eating a chicken parm sub and losing weight
Re: Dieting woes
I'm sorry, that really sucks
Maybe your body is slow to catch on, but when it does, the pounds will come flying off...
The cartoonish one where her boobs get smaller?? That is what I thought of too!!
Most guys I know simply have an easier time than women when it comes to taking off weight. There are biological and physiological reasons for this, and yeah it's unfair and totally sucks.
If he's always been thinner than you though, it may just be that he has a higher metabolic resting rate or something. And if that's the case, he'll see faster more prounounced changes if he starts a weight loss program, compared with others anyway.
Also, keep in mind that the body adjusts based on what you give it. That's why it's important to vary the amount of calories you take in. If your body gets used to, say only 1200 calories, you'll plateau after a while and won't see weight loss because that's what the body has become accustomed to.
