Does anyone's baby have silent reflux? I think that my son has been dealing with silent reflux and it's now causing his refusal to eat. I think that he possibly has irritated his throat and now is in pain while eating.
My daughter had relfux but was a spitter, so she got all of the acid out and zantac worked fine for her. The pediatrician has put Max on zantac, but since it's just a neutralizer, I'm thinking that it's not helping since the acid is still damaging his throat causing him pain when eating. He's dropped from eating 30 oz a day to 16-20oz and even that is a fight.
If your baby has silent reflux, what meds are they taking? Did you see a pediatric GI?
Re: Silent reflux?
My LO has mild reflux and I'm going back and forth on whether or not I want to put her on meds. My dr suggested keeping her bottles small. He said babies with reflux tend to eat less and more frequently . My LO eats a 4 oz bottle every 2-3 hours, totaling between 25-30 oz a day; she's 12 weeks old. Have you tried making the bottles smaller?
