AW: It's too cold . . .

to go to work today!  Yay, long week-end!  Temperature right now is -31C and with the windchill is supposed to hit -50 or so (-58F) later today.  School is closed and I get the day home with DD.  Thankfully we don't need to leave the house until later this evening.

Oh FFS, as I was typing this DD pooped in the tub!

  • Brrrrrrr is right!

Every time they call for cold weather here, I think of you and wonder how much colder it must be up there.

I don't know about you, but our forecast for the next few days is all sorts of crazy.

We're sitting at -18 right now (0F for our friends across the border). It's supposed to warm all the way up to +2 (36F) tomorrow and Sunday, then Monday we're looking at a high of -18 (0F) that should feel like -29 (-20) and Tuesday should be even colder.

At least we're getting warm weather for the weekend so we will be able to go outside :)

    Also: ewww!

Do you live in the Arctic Circle?  -58F?  Ho-lee-cow.

Hehe, nah.  Their temps were like -66C (like -80 something F) earlier this week.  An acquaintance on FB said their school was closed because the liquid in your eyes was in danger of freezing if you went outside.

The majority of people in Canada don't ever see these temperatures.

  • Soooo cold! I can't imagine.

And lol at the poop - I totally sympathize. DS had some poo-in-the-wrong-place incidents yesterday.

That is wonky.  Last week-end was like that for us.  Sunday it went up to +3 which is nearly unheard of around here for January.  It was amazing.

Enjoy the heat wave while you can :)

    Ouch! That is SO cold.

I do not miss Canadian Winter. I lived in Northern Alberta and it would get downright frigid in the winter months. I remember one day it was so cold, buses started breaking down in the roads.

    Gah.

I love my mild winter in KS so much!

Days like this are definitely miserable, but for the most part I love winter.  Thankfully we're in a winter playground here and we can leave our backyard on skidoo, skis or snowshoes and be right on a groomed trail.  If I couldn't take advantage of the snow I'd hate winter.  Mind you, come April the snow can beat it because by then I'm sooo ready for warm weather and pavement.

  • When we hit freezing everyone flips out down here. They were calling for a wintery mix last night and some schools were being delayed Before there was even a drop of snow. It is cold for us but I'm telling you, people are crazy here with 32 degrees. I could not even begin to imagine negatives!!! Keep warm!!

  • *** that!!  I am the wimpiest California girl you will EVER "meet."

If CA got that cold, I'd have moved as soon as I was legally old enough to leave my parents.

We're stuck at 28*F in the MOTN, and there's no way I'd go outside.  I don't even own enough clothing to go outside in anything colder.

Wow...  I thought I had dry skin in this climate.

  • It's a balmy 50 degrees here after a week of below 0. I heard Ellen DeGeneres say the other day that if the temperature is below her age, she's not going outside. I think that's a good theory.
