Question for FF'ers

mobile: Question for FF'ers

I EBF now, but pumping at work is getting tough due to my hectic schedule.  Just wondering if you FF about how much do you spend a month on formula, and are you EFF or supplementing?  I always hear how much money I am saving by EBF but I am curious as to how much in case I need to change.

TIA!

Re: Question for FF'ers

  • I spend anywhere between 150-200 dollars a month on formula depending on how much he eats. Sometime we spend less when we can catch sales or have coupons. It is expensive.

  • I spend approximately $100 a month on formula. I buy the big similac containers using $5 coupons from BJ's and I go through about 1 a week. We EFF and DD eats 3x per day 5oz and 2x per night 6oz.

  • I pay 36.00 for a box of Enfamil Gentlease at Sams.  He will go through a box in about a week and a half to 2 weeks.  If I buy the smaller box, of course it goes much faster.

  • I buy Target brand formula. when it is on sale, I'll stock up. I believe my last few cans were $21.99? I am totally estimating at how often I go through a can, because I split them up between upstairs, her diaper bag and the kitchen.... Maybe 1 can every 10 days?? She eats roughtly 30-35oz a day. I'd have to check the can and I'm not at home.

  • We EFF using Similac Advance Ready To Feed. Shiz is expensive. LOL We buy a case of 6 at BRU for 41 bucks a box. It lasts almost a week. So, about 160 a month. We do use the Similac coupons though so that helps a little bit. Alice is almost 4m and eats about 28oz a day.

  • We EFF my LO and buy the big containers of Similac Sensitive at Sams club with Similac checks and  it winds up being about $100 a month. She goes through one container in like a week and a half and she drinks about 28-30 oz a day.

  • Right now I'm going through about 10 to 12 cans a month for the girls, we use similac sensitive. With coupons checks, and target 5 percent off we are spending about 300. So it would be around 150 for one.

  • About 100 a month. I buy the big similac advance with the 5 checks at Costco and they are 26. We go through one every week and a half with him eating about 3032 oz a day. We are EFF.

  • My LO is on alimentum and a 19 oz can of powder is $28-$30. I think we spend between $200-$300 each month, outrageous !

  • Thanks for all your input!  I guess I am saving a significant amount by EBF - so I guess I'll just try to push through the pumping as much as I can!

  • If you get a choice, I'd go with similac unless you go with a costco or sam's club brand.  it's on sale more often, and there are way more coupons than with enfamil.  whatever type you go with though, sign up for their programs and you'll get tons of coupons.

I don't know how much we spend a month, so I can't answer that.

Did you try getting a prescription and getting it covered by insurance?

Not yet, we're going to call this week and try, I really hope it works! Or at least they partially cover it.
