Problem with the Baby Bullet

I was using the Baby Bullet tonight to make pureed banana. This is only the second time I'd used it, ever.

I was using the smaller cup attachment, which screws right into the blade. After pureeing for a while, I took the small cup off to check the consistency, and saw that the gasket (that little plastic or rubber ring around the edge of the piece with the blade) had come off. I tried inserting it back in, but I wasn't completely sure where it should go and probably didn't put it back in right. It ended up coming off again and literally getting twisted around the blade, which quickly stopped running.

I managed to get the gasket out, read the directions, and insert it where it should be. I then pureed a second banana, as a test, and the gasket stayed in place.

I'm just wondering, is it common for the gasket to come out that easily? They give you a few extra, so maybe that's why. Still, it doesn't seem right that I should have a problem after only using the BB twice. I'm worried that the gasket will come off again and get pureed into the food by mistake (I'd probably realize it before I fed LO, but still, the thought freaks me out).

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Should I let it go, or maybe contact the company? I did call them already, and left a vm.

Any thoughts?

Re: Problem with the Baby Bullet

  • I thought you were only supposed to use the little one for grains no?  In any case, yes, they do occasionally come off.  I've never had that problem with the baby bullet, but I have had that problem with the regular bullet.  Don't worry about the plactic piece getting into the baby's food. It will stop the blade from rotating and jam up the device before it can go into the food. No worries.

  • I've never had it come off other than in washing for both my baby and adult bullets. Must just not have been in right.

Also, I use the little one for small batches too, it's not strictly grains, heck I use it to make me a small smoothie ever once in a while :)
