sad but special day

My grandmother hadn't been doing well over the last couple months.  She had to have a small procedure last week so she was still in the hospital.  Yesterday I got a call from my mom that Grandma wasn't doing well and they were just going to keep her comfortable.  Sadly, she passed away this evening.  She was 90 years old, and it's more of a relief since she had been having so much trouble.  So it's a sad day but also good to know that she's in peace.

The special part is that my Grandpa died 5 years ago today.  They are finally reunited.  I don't know why, but I find a lot of comfort in that.

    I'm sorry for your loss.  Losing a grandparent is so hard.

    I am so sorry for your loss, but I definitely think it is symbolic that she passed away today. My thoughts are with you and your family. Losing a loved one is so tough.

    Oh I'm so sorry.  I agree, something about it being on the same day just makes it feel as if there is just a bit more of a connection and makes it feel a little better.

    I am so sorry for your loss.  It is never easy to lose someone that is so special to you.  I completely understand where you are coming from in feeling comfort that your grandparents are reunited.  I felt the same way when my grandfather died.
