DD is in mainstream Kindergarten class with 50 percent support para or SN teacher. She has a substantial speech delay and socialization is hard for her. Behaviorally, we have never had an issue with her in the classroom this year plus 2 years in preschool.
She rides the regular bus to and from school everyday. This evening she told that a girl on the bus took the flower that she made in art class today. She was upset by this, of course. She would never say anything to the bus driver. One of her IEP goals is for her to ask for help when she needs it. I never thought of it before but I'm not even sure if the bus driver is aware of her issues.
I am not sure how to handle the situation. Do I bring this up to her bus driver? Or do I just talk to DD about and see if it happens again.
She has recently been asking to do the afterschool program and has even gone as far as writing notes to give to her teacher that say she is now ASP. I don't know if that is because she is having issues on the bus, but I don't think that is why.
