Hitting

How are you dealing with it when your LO hits? The nephew has started hitting both people and objects when he gets mad. When my kids were little, we used to tell them no and distract with something else. Is this still considered the best practice? Boy, do I feel dumb. Lol

Re: Hitting

  • Pretty much. We usually remind her to be nice and redirect. If it keeps up, I set her down and walk away. I've been doing time outs also. Don't feel dumb. I have an almost 13 year old and I still come on for advice. You forget after so long.

  • If L decides to hit we react very quickly with the no honey that is not nice and sometimes if it's repetitive we sit him in his chair for a time out.
