Motivation

Okay I really need some ideas on motivation. After work, teaching etc. I just am SO tired. I do not feel like I have it in me to go. If I could just get in the routine again I would be good. :sigh: I know I should just do it but that's not happening. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that help them? I am not PG yet but would like to be healthy and have a healthy pregnancy.

  • my motivation was just looking at my post baby body in the mirror naked.  I just didn't even recognize myself.  it kept me going every.single.day.

  • Try working out before work.  First thing in the morning before the stress of the day hits you.  Additionally, maybe find a class(es) you enjoy.  I'm always motivated by working out with others because I'm competitive and eventually you build a camaraderie with the other attendees.  Besides, if you're paying to participate in something, you're a bit more motivated to go

  • MUSIC!!  A good playlist, if you have an iPod.  Pick out some new tunes that get your body moving.  You can even create the playlist using BPM (beats per minute), to maximize your playlist for your workout (walking vs running etc) There are some neat tools online to help you calculate this for different songs.  Here is a cool site too, good for fast-walkers...https://walk.jog.fm/workout-songs/for/17:00/minute-miles

    I recently did created a fresh playlist to help keep me getting out the door for a 4-mile walk every day, and the music really helped keep me going.  The BPM was right on target for my walking pace, so I didn't touch my ipod the whole time.
