Babies & B-day parties - WWYD?

Would you take an 8wk old baby to a 1yo's b-day party? ?I want to bow out b/c I'm scared Ian will catch something - is that irrational? ?He's not scheduled for vaccinations until next week, and it IS cold/flu season. . .

    I may get flamed for this, but I took DD to my four year old nieces B-day party 6 days after she was born. Everytime I went somewhere with her people would comment about not taking out their children until they were two months old. I did not take her to places with massive crowds, but I did take her to the grocery store and family functions all the time. She never caught anything, but she is breast fed so maybe that effects immunity. I just couldn't stay in the house with her all the time.

    I took DS out pretty much everywhere.  Although, I'm not sure if I would feel the same way if he was smaller when it was cold like it is now.
