I pureed fresh blueberries and froze them in ice cube trays. When I pulled them out they look like cranberry sauce out of a can. Kind of rubbery looking and hold shape. Are they okay or should I pitch them?
Not to hijack your thread, but I have a ton of frozen blueberries that my mom picked and brought to me last year. Do you think I could thaw them, puree them, and refreeze them? I've only ever used them in pies...
I have no idea about the consistency issue, maybe they weren't frozen solid enough? I have had to leave mine in for over 24 hours to get them solid. As for refreezing frozen berries, I did and mine were fine.

Frozen food (commercially packaged) is not cooked prior to freezing. As long as you cook the frozen food before refreezing, you are fine.
