Nervous about leaving LO overnight for the first time

My H and I are going out of town for a wedding on March 1 and plan to leave LO with my mom at our house for the night. He'll be 14 months old by then. We bed share and he nurses several times through the night. When we originally made these plans, I thought LO wouldn't still be nursing through the night anymore.

I'm starting to worry more and more about leaving him. I keep thinking it might be better to just cancel the room and drive back after the wedding (it's a little over an hour away). H and I really need a night away, so I feel like I'm being pulled in 2 different directions. Any stories, advice or words of encouragement are welcome!

    Is your mom okay with waking up during the night to feed LO? If so, I would just pump extra to make sure LO has enough and enjoy the night away!

    Yes, she knows she'll most likely be up with him and is ok with it.

    If you can do it every night for a year, she can handle it for one night. As long as your mom is a person you trust to respond to your child, go and have some fun. And get some sleep.

    We left Ro for the first time around that age.  Little stinker only woke up once and spent the rest of the night in bed with Grammy and Pappy. Wish she had treated me that well. LOL! It will be fine. Enjoy the wedding!

    You are an awesome mommy! You will be thinking about the LO almost the whole time expect it it's normal. As a nanny for 15 years FTM leaving LO is hard. Have your mom take a ton a pics and text them to you. It will keep your mind settled.

    Babywise. LO will totally fine. Grandmas are the best and love spending all that time with LO. getting up a hundred times will not bother them at all they love it. Pump but I am sure your little one is going to given so much attention and love that they will spend most of the night exhausted and asleep. If not like you said you are only an hour away.

    Enjoy some hubby time and kick up tho heels you deserve it.

    DD has stayed over w/my Dad and sister quite a few times and i still freak out...she acts SO much better with them! Sleeps all night and everything! My Dad said to me last time "Im not saying she doesnt miss you but its like she doesnt even know youre gone or that shes not at home" haha

    It's an hour - if it all falls apart and your mom needs you guys to come back (which I doubt will happen), you can drive back. Pump ahead of time so he can have some BM during the night (or just give him some milk), make sure your mom knows he might wake up and enjoy a night off! Just be prepared to nurse for awhile when you get back to him, hee hee. have fun!

    This!  My 10 month old DD has done an overnight at my parents twice already and she sleeps great there.  At home she sleeps in our bed and comfort nurses all night long.  When she stays over my parents house, they give her a bottle before bed, put her in the pack and play in their bedroom and she goes to sleep.  I'm sure everything will be fine.  Try to enjoy a night out with your husband.

    We have left DD with my mom a few times, and each time gets a little easier but i still think about her the whole time we are apart. I stress way more than she does! She has a blast with grandma and doesnt seem to mind the separation at all (which makes me a little sad but i would rather she be happy than sad). Go have fun!
