crap...expiration date question

So I am on night 3 of Menopur and Gonal-F. I had a Gonal-F pen left over from last cycle and figured I would use that...couldn't stand to throw 450iu's in the trash! After I gave myself the injection and am going to throw the box in the trash I realize it has a sticker from the pharmacy on it that says "once pierced product expires in 28 days".

It was pierced at the end of October when I used it for my last cycle, so obviously it is expired. What would you do? Call the nurse tomorrow and ask? Call the on call number tonight?

I personally would call my RE oncall and ask. I wouldn't want a messed up night of stims to negatively affect my cycle if I could do something about it. Good luck!

Thanks ladies! I spoke with the on call RE and he said as long as it was refrigerated, which it was, it should be fine. He said that if it wasn't refrigerated bacteria could've grown and that's why it says to discard it after 28 days. He said that it's different from an actual expiration date on a med.

Not that anyone asked, but I figured I'd let everyone know! That way if anyone has a blonde moment like me in the future and does this they can be like hey I remember what cupcake's RE said! The more you know :
