Crawling has a WIDE range in what's normal. My friend's baby is 11 months old and only started crawling a week ago. My first skipped crawling all together and started walking at 9 1/2 months. I really wouldn't worry.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't take anything I read on those baby websites (this one included) too seriously. I depend on my pedi to give me the info I need and I trust her. These articles just scare parents and make them think something is wrong with their child and we have enough stress in our lives.
yep...
at first I would have freaked out about it... but now... whatever... if his pedi isn't worried, I'm not worried...

My first DD pretty much completely skipped crawling and started walking at 10 months. Everyone told me she NEEDED to crawl or she'd never be able to read well (something to do with right-brain, left-brain coordination or something). Anyway, she started reading at 3 1/2 and is doing school work 2 grades ahead of where she is. There is enough legitimate stuff to worry about for your child, don't waste energy worrying about stuff like crawling!
My older boys didnt crawl until closer to 10months and didnt walk until 14 months. They are both very smet kids and do well in school! No delays at all. Babies do things on their own time table!
Re: Not crawling, a developmental delay?
