After 2 years of TTC and a lot of tests/procedures I was finally diagnosed with severe Ashermans Syndrome. My fertility specialist described my uterus as looking like a "Pancake" while performing the hysteroscopy. The average uterine lining thickness should be between 6-8mm and mine is measuring 3mm as of yesterday. I was on 2mg of Estrogen 3 times a day for 60 days in an attempt to thicken the lining but it did nothing. Between the severe scar tissue built up in my uterus and my thin lining I am not able to successfully carry a child. Our next option is surrogacy.
My 41 year old sister in law that has had 3 healthy teenage boys has offered to be a gestational surrogate for my husband and I. She is an RN that specializes in high risk pregnancies and she is very healthy so I feel that she would be a good fit plus she is family.
Has anyone every had a family member as a gestational surrogate? If so do you mind sharing your experience with me? I am in the very early stages of researching the surrogacy option so I am looking for as much information as I can get.
This is all very new to me so please be nice to me. If I am posting this on the wrong board please let me know and direct me to the correct place.
Thank you!

Hi! I have no experience with surrogacy. I just wanted to say how lucky you are to have a sil like that. My rotten twin sister refused to do it for me when I asked if she would if I needed it. She already has her 2 and had her tubes tied so she doesn't want any more. She said being pregnant was too hard and she doesn't want to do it again. She also refused to give me any eggs because mine are not the best of quality. What is the point of having a twin if you can't use her for spare parts? I mostly just wanted to wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide
