positive test- then negative

Hi ladies-

I had a miscarraige the middle of December and haven't had a period since.  I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was positive.  Since having the miscarraige I'm nervous about getting excited over being pregnant, so I took another one a couple of hours later and it read "not pregnant".  

Hmmm...I will test again in the morning, but do you think the first one was correct since it was done with more concentrated urine?  Or is it possible to get a false positive?  

I'm so hoping that the first one was correct and tomorrows test will confirm it :)  Have any of you ever experienced this? 

  I wanted to add that I have had blood drawn since my miscarriage and my HCG levels were back at 0.

    You could have had a false positive or it could be that your urine wasn't concentrated enough the second time around.  Take the pregger test in the morning.  If it is positive make an appointment for a blood test with your doctor.  For goodness sake, don't test again in the middle of the day silly!  Stick out tongue

    If this is the start of baby time for you--CONGRATS!!

    If it is just a false alarm--continue to have fun makin that baby!!

    Thanks!  I certainly won't be retesting mid day again!  lol :)  Not sure what I was thinking!

    Good luck!  My mom swears you can't get a false positive, only false negatives.  I have no idea if this true.

    I normally only lurk here, but this is usually true unless you were using a blue dye test (which is known for not being accurate). If your doctor's office is open you could go in for a quantitative blood draw. When I POAS I collect it in a cup so that I can retest using the same FMU sample in case the results aren't clear.     Thanks girls!  I used an EPT digital test both times...had a 2 pack :)  So there was no dye.  DH picked me up some extra tests today so I'll POAS tomorrow morning (they are not blue dye and NOT digital this time :))  I'm really hopeful....I've been feeling a little hormonal lately but assumed it was because I recently weaned by son...maybe not :)

    When i was not sure i was pregnant with little man, i did alot of googling about false positives. It said it was very unlikely. I made an appointment with dr and their urine test said negative but the blood work confirmed a pregnancy.

     It sounds like you are on the early stages of pregnancy! I hope this is true since it sounds like what you want.
