Im 32 weeks, 5 days and just got released from the hospital. I went in for excessive pain in my ribs that shot up to my shoulders. Turns out, I have developed high blood pressure in the past few weeks. Also, protein in my urine! Nothing came back high enough to diagnose pre eclampsia, but they told me it's "pre" pre eclampsia. If I wouldn't have gone in, I would be having alot more issues. But now I'm on bed rest until 3738 weeks and will then be induced if she doesn't come naturally before then. This is my first pregnancy and it's not going at all how I imagined it would. I'm so upset. I just had to get this out because my "oh so supportive" family won't listen, and there's no babys dad around. Has anyone had to be on bed rest for so long? What did you do to pass the time?
Re: well this sucks.
Hang in there! The bed rest will be worth it in the end to keep LO cooking. I had pre-e with DS1 (diagnosed at 34w; had him at 35w,4d) and again with #2 - except this time I was diagnosed at 30w. I am scheduled for an induction later this week at 37w, and I definitely credit the bed rest and taking it easy as part of the reason that I was able to make this far along. It's good that they caught it early and can keep a close eye on you to make sure you and LO are safe.
As far as passing time, I'm still working, just from home and in bed -- so that took up a lot of my time. I also read a lot and watch TV shows on netflix.
Good luck!!!!
DS1: Quinn - 10.22.10 and DS2: Cole - 01.18.13
I' m glad they caught it early. I've been on bed rest for 2 weeks so far. I read, shop online, surf the net, watch tv. I've watched 2 seasons of Downton Abbey & am working on Dallas now
. It sure does get kinda boring but I just try to remember why it's necessary. good luck!
