Cradle cap

I think my DD may have cradle cap. She only appears to have it from the forehand at her hairline leading to the crown, then stops. Not sure how long she's had it, as i just noticed it tonight. I've researched online and have read various remedies, but wanted to see what the rest of you suggest. How long did it last after treatment?

Re: Cradle cap

  • Baby oil and a fine toothed comb worked best for us.

  • Try the mustela foam shampoo.  Leave it on for 3-5 minutes and then wash it off.  Our pedi also told us the severe cradle cap can be removed by using neutrogena t-gel shampoo (for adults) once a week.  Again, you leave it on for 3-5 minutes and then wash it off.  Cradle cap can last until they are 1.
  • We used Selsum Blue and it was gone in about 3-4 washes.

  • Baby oil after his bath (while the hair is still wet) then we just massaged his head with the baby brush and it was gone in about a week (although it wasn't that bad to begin with).
