Sammy's birth story

Well it's been almost a month now since my LO arrived. Just wanna share my birthing experience with you.

Was scheduled for an induction last dec 13. When I arrive at the hospital the doctor checked how far I was... It was 2cm dilated and 100 effaced. They started pitocin at 8:50pm. Everything was doing fine and they gave me morphine so I could sleep through the night inspite of the contractions. Guess what, the pain is still there. It's a good thing my husband was so helpful that he placed some heating gel pads every contraction. It really helped. I wasn't planning to have an epidural but at 6am on the 14th I was 9cm but my baby's heart rate was going down. So the doctor told us that if still no progress and the baby is gonna be in distress she's gonna do a csection. They placed an internal monitor at the baby's head and they gave me an epidural so my contractions would slow down and in case of emergency csection ill be in the operating room right away. But we don't want to have a csection and told the doctor if we could just wait till I'm fully dilated and see what happens.

They checked me around lunch time if I was fully dilated. I was but there's still a little cervix left on top. Tried to push him out but just a little movement. The doctor asked us if we wanted our baby to be vacummed, if still nothing happens then they're gonna do csection. We decided to have him vacummed coz I don't want to be operated. Anyway, gave a mighty push and our baby's heart rate maintained to its normal level and gave birth normally with vacumme assisted at 3:24 pm. There was a cord coil on his body like a sash, but thank God he came out healthy. He weighed 6.44lbs. We're just so happy that we didn't jump to the conclusion to be CS right away inspite of the hard labor I went through :
