  • most unique: Limes and lemons! lol. The smell of fresh citrus was very calming to me at the time and helped me work through my contractions. Sounds crazy I know, but they really did help.

  • Swaddle blankets. Calmed them both down (different times of course).
  • I pack nightgowns because it's sooooo much easier to change them in those.  This go around taking a picture of my son so I don't explode from missing him so much.  DS2's very own, never to be handed down, coming home outfit.  My own pillow and blanket because I want baby to smell "home" even before we get there and hey it's calming for me too.  That's also why I will put him in his own clothes and swaddles instead of using the hospitals.... I want him to get used to the detergent and smell right off the bat.   Yeah, I'm weird.

  • Lip balm, Candies/Snacks/Water/Juice, Nursing bra/nursing shirts/nighties, socks, shampoo, conditioner, towel, outfits for the baby, blankets...with my first we weren't expecting to be there so long (ECS), so we ran out of clothes for both of us.  This time I will also bring a pillow and blanket for me and my own pj's and slippers.  Don't forget the camera, laptop, iPhone, etc.  Books/magazines and I'll bring one of those heat up beanbag things, they help the CS area.
