I have zero experience with convertible car seats, so I'm trying to do as much homework as I can before we order one. Right now I am really wanting a Recaro ProRide, just based on initial gut reaction. Unfortunately, I have a Honda Accord, so I'm worried that getting DS in and out of a RF convertible is going to be tricky, especially the ProRide since it sits up high from the reviews I have read. If you're using a convertible, do you ever put the seat in the middle of the backseat? Or if your convertible is behind the driver, do you ever climb in the passenger side and put LO in that way?
Re: Convertible Car Seats
That will be the most efficient way to know vs. Guessing. And yes, always center seat : hope it works out for ya.

I have the Recaro for both my kids (almost 3 year old and 8 month old). I love it and so do they. Its safety rating is very high.
When it was just my first child, she was in the middle rear-facing, which is considered the safest position for a car seat. Now that we have 2 kids, the middle is not an option anymore.
I went ahead and ordered a Recaro on Amazon since I can return it for free.
I had read that the Accord doesn't have LATCH for the middle seat. I will have to research this more.
Most cars don't have LATCH in the center. LATCH isn't safer than using a seatbelt; it's just way easier to install correctly which means safer. Very few vehicles will allow you to install across the two side LATCH to put the seat in the middle via LATCH

My friend had the Recaro and really likes it.
I tried the Recaro and Marathon in my Camry and was surprised that due to the height of the Recaro, it actually hit the drivers seat when rear facing but the marathon didn't. Recaro takes up a few more inches back to front than the Marathon
