sorry if this has been posted before. i need some serious help. my 7.5 mo has been sttn since just before 6 mo (7pm-7am; we sleep-trained using ferber). over the past couple of weeks, she got her first teeth and also started standing in the crib. since then, shes been waking 2-3x at night. i am at a loss for what do do. i have tried re-sleep training. if i put her in her crib, no matter how tired she is, she pulls to stand. i can put her back down 30x if i wanted she will continue to do it. sometimes i just walk away and inevitably she tips over at some point and starts crying and i have to go in and get her. i don't know how i can sleep train in this position. does anyone have any words of advice who has been through this situation?
Re: standing & sleep regression
I nursed him back to sleep every time. If he woke again immediately I'd rock him back to sleep. Honestly I just went with it. We had some long nights, but wouldn't you know, within a day or two of him mastering crawling he went back to waking only once a night. Now mind you, we went about a month with terrible sleep. Standing, on the other hand, hasn't bothered his sleep at all. He just stands up when he wakes his once time at night and then in the morning, he's not waking to practice.
I don't know that there's anything you can do other than be patient and wait it out. Let your LO practice as much as possible during awake hours so they are satisfied with their new skill, I suppose!
So do we and DS stands up no problem. I thought it would deter him, too. He doesn't even notice it!
