Experience with St. Lukes-Roosevelt?

Could anyone share any experience they had with St-Lukes Roosevelt? The labor and delivery suite at Roosevelt seems best for me

Re: Experience with St. Lukes-Roosevelt?

  • I had a D/C there due to molar pregnancy in 2011, and I finally worked out my bill with them 1 month ago. They charged me for staying overnight even though I walked out an hour after surgery. I unfortunately had to resort to threatening them with legal action to get the charges removed.

Also, if their ER is any indication, it is not the cleanest hospital. I did get my one and only UTI in my entire life from the D/C.

    I'm going to NYU.

  • I delivered in November at St. Luke's Roosevelt. I thought the doctors there did a fabulous job delivering my baby. I didn't get my doctor to deliver but the other one on call did a great job. The nurses were also great, very patient and easy to talk to. They came around to check up on me. The only downside was when I went into labor around midnight, it took awhile to get checked into triage. Looking back I can now understand the situation. It's a city hospital and they had lots of deliveries and not enough beds. It took half an hour which felt like eternity as my contractions were picking up. Once in triage, it took awhile for the nurses to come around and check on me. I was ready to move into the labor and delivery room but they wanted me to be dilated. When I was 9cm dilated, they moved me into one of the labor rooms and got the epidural right away. At that time I was having intense contractions and couldn't sit up right but the doctor helped me. Overall I had a good experience but keep in mind St. Luke's-Roosevelt is a city hospital.
