I really want
this diaper bag and I don't expect anyone to buy it (it's a bit expensive, not Coach expensive though) but I know we get a discount after our baby shower so I wanted to add it to my registry. Do you think people would think I was being gift grabby and rude if they see it on there?

Re: Is it tacky to register for this?
If you're worried about it, you can take it off and then add it back in after the shower. Once I got my completion coupon, I added a ton of crap to my registry.
But overall, I had all my big ticket items on my registry from the beginning - not expecting anyone to get it for me, but just so I could buy it at a discount. I had my crib & furniture on there, stroller, high chair, etc. You never know, some people might all go in together and get you one of your more expensive items.

It's never an issue to put expensive things on your registry as long as you intend to buy it for yourself if no one else does. I would definitely not buy this for someone because I think that I could get some much more useful items for that amount of money, and I think that it is ridiculously overpriced for a diaper bag. However, someone you know might buy it for you or you could just use the discount at the end. It would be extremely inconsiderate to put this on your registry and then buy yourself a $50 diaper bag if nobody springs for the $179 one.

Not tacky at all! Like Hoolah said, people may want to chip in for a larger gift, so you just might end up getting it! For my baby shower, I had registered for an expensive baby monitor, and a few friends all went in on that gift.
I think as long as you have a range of different priced gifts on your registry to choose from, it's totally fine. Cute bag!
