2yr old-complaining of head & eyes hurting

Looking for some advice...

My (almost) 2 year old has been complaining the last week or so that her head and her eye hurt. She routinely says it at bedtime. At first I thought it was because she didn't want to go to bed; but on Thursday our daycare lady said that she was saying it all afternoon. It seems to come & go; some days she won't say it at all (until bedtime), and then like Thursday, she'll say it quite a few times.

Should I be worried? She has a slight cough; but otherwise is completely healthy. Her 2 year appt it in a month; should I wait? Something tells me to call into our doctor to see if I can get her seen earlier. I just don't want to seem like a hypochondriac of a mother!

Any advice would be appreciated...thank you ladies!

My first thought is maybe an issue with her eyesight, or dehydration.

It could be nothing, it could be something minor, or it could suggest something serious...but I think it's worth getting her checked out.

Your gut is telling her to get her checked so go with it. I am unapologetically "that mother" but I figure I'm not a health professional so all I can do is seek advice when something seems off with my child's health. If I'm not seeking medical advice when something seems wrong then that only means I run the risk of being the other kind of,"that mother" which I'd rather not be.

I don't know for sure what it could be, but I grew up in the same general area as it states on your bump and I have heard of other people's kids having similar complaints lately. My best friend posted something like this recently on her FB (her child is a year older) and a bunch of people told her that their kids have had similar complaints and they came to the consensus that it was an early symptom of the flu that is going around. Don't know if they are correct, but just letting you know that I have heard similar complaints.

My 2 year old has been complaining about her eye since New Year's. I brought it up to the pediatrician at her well visit and he told me to take her to the eye dr. I already had an appt scheduled, so I'm waiting to see what it is.

My 3 yr old was just saying last week that his head hurt, but only during diaper changes. During the day I would touch his head and watch his face for reaction; no reaction so I thought it was fine. Then a few nights later my husband saw that DS neck looked swollen but you could hardly tell, and could only tell from the back of his neck. He took him to the DR and it was strep! So it was DS neck that was hurting, not his head. I say it might be worth it to take her to the DR, just in case.

could be an ear infection. My daughter complins of a sore throat when she has one. Your child may not be localizing the pain. It could also be possible that ur child needs glasses. Take them to the dr.
