Rec your travel stroller

We'll be traveling overseas in a few weeks and really don't want to take our Quinny stroller. We have the Buzz and its rather large for that type of travel. Any suggestions for a good umbrella type sturdy stroller?

Re: Rec your travel stroller

  • We use our city mini for travel and love it since it still has a nice smooth ride but is lighter and more compact than our full size stroller. We are actually going on a cross country trip tonight for 2 weeks and the city mini was the first thing I sat out to go. :)

I have also heard great things about the UppaBaby G-Luxe for travel and that has a traditional umbrella fold.

  • I LOVE my Uppa Baby G-Luxe.  It's easy open, soft, and has a great sunshade.  The only thing I was dissapointed with is the small basket and the flimsy cup holder (I was spoiled with a great snap in go with a parent tray & big basket before hand), but that's pretty typical with an umbrella.

We used it on our trip to Florida and it was great getting from gate to gate in the airport between flights.  It also fits in a regular check bag (they are about $15) so there's no need to buy a pricey bag for travel for this one as well.  I also use it for an everyday stroller as well.  It does great strolling around the neighborhood, as well as shopping indoors.

  • I'd get an Uppa G-lite or one of the Maclarens.
  • I didn't wand to spend over 100 so I went with the Chico c6. The sunshade isn't the greatest but it works well for travel. It has a little recline but nothing huge so if your LO will be napping in the stroller I'd look for one with a better recline feature.

  • I'm planning to get the Valco Snap.  Super lightweight, good basket, folds very flat and still full featured.  I prefer it to the City Mini.
