Just for certain organs or all? Whatever they can use
Did you make this decision before having a SO? Yes.
Does your SO know if you are a donor/do you know if they are? Yes, we had this conversation well before we got married, and we also put it in our wills.
yes to all of the above. We were asked the question when we got our graduated licenses when we turned 18 and it wasn't really a question for either of us.
Oops, I forgot to answer the part about when I decided to be a donor.
When I was 15, a girl I knew was killed in a horseback riding accident. Her parents did not donate her organs. I talked to my parents about it, and told them that if anything ever happened, I wanted them to donate everything and not to hesitate.
Yes to all. Except for my SO. He thinks if your an organ donor that they won't save your life, or try as hard if you get into a serious accident. He is a little weird.
It isn't on my license, and technically I am not registered, but yes.
Not everything, they can't take my eyes, skin or heart. I don't know why I care, I mean I'll be dead and stuff, but I can't deal with the thought of those things being taken from my body.
DH is aware of my wishes. They aren't written down anywhere, but he knows.
Not anymore. Fil is a transplant recipiand when he received his kidney we learned that when you're a donor your organs go to the person at the top of the list. Dh and I understand that our organs go to loved ones in case they need an organ first, but that if no one needed an organ we would donate to strangers without hesitation.
To be honest I have no idea why I'm not. I'm guessing I didn't care about it when I got my drivers license. Its something that I've been considering for sure.
Did you make this decision before having a SO? I have been with DH for almost 12 years so I think I made it after him.
Does your SO know if you are a donor/do you know if they are? Yes, my DH knows I am an organ donor. He forgot to check the box when he renewed his license so his does not say organ donor right now. But I know that if the situation were ever to arise he would want me to have his organs go to those who needed them.
Are you a donor on your license? Yes
Just for certain organs or all? All
Did you make this decision before having a SO? I've always been a donor
Does your SO know if you are a donor/do you know if they are? My DH is not a donor and he doesn't want to be, it's an argument for us and so we don't discuss it. He knows I am.

I'm not either, although here it's not on your license but on your health care card instead. My husband isn't either. We are both, I think, fine with the idea but it's just nor formalized in any way. If I'm dead I don't really care what he does with my organs and I'm pretty sure he's the same way. They can only take organs with no health issues though, so for both of us our eyes aren't donatable. I don't know what the actual requirements are for the rest of the organs.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
I joined the donor list when I got my new license after moving to CA in 2007, and it had the little pink dot on it that said Donor.... then when I got married and changed my name and had to get a new license, the dot was gone...but I should still be on the list I think right..? I'm hoping it's just an error in printing the license and they didnt remove me from the list
Anywho...as to my knowledge, yes I am a donor. Since I just did it thru the DMV, I'm not sure if there's a place one can go to double check?
yes, for all organs. we both are and both made the decision prior to being together. i dont need my organs when i'm gone, but if someone else can use them or if they can save a life - take them!
DH and I are both open to donating anything and everything. We won't need it at that point and would be happy if it could be used to help someone else. We've both felt this way since before we were driving, so long before kids.
A super sincere thank you and good job to all those who are. I'm with the other poster who isn't but for no reason. I didn't think about it when I got my license at 16 and no one asked when I renewed and I just never changed it at renewal which is normally done by mail.
My DH is a donor and feels very strongly about doing so. After being in Oklahoma a few weeks ago and staying with my cousin who's a kidney surgeon, I will FOR SURE get it changed.
...he was on call and got two phone calls regarding getting a kidney for people who have been waiting etc. after talking with him and hearing stories I sorta feel like a diick for not immediately calling to get this changed.
Yes, all, yes, and yes. DH is also a donor for everything except his eyes. He's weird about his eyes. I keep hearing, though, that I should also sign up for the online donor registry, so that if something happens to me and the right people aren't looking at my license, they'll still know that I'm a donor. I need to add this to my to do list.

Yep, I'm a donor for everything but my eyes- I don't want those parts going to anyone else for some reason.
I have always been a donor since I was 18 and yes, my DH is aware.
We also had one brief discussion about our son and future kids. We'd donate any of their organs as well.
All of this.
Yes to everything. I want anything that can be donated donated. Whatever is left can be put in the ground.
My dad was a liver recipient. He passed away while waiting for a second transplant.
