I would totally get it unless you're already feeling sick. Since we can't take any meds to help us through the flu, it's important to protect yourself & your baby. I know it's a controversial topic but I'm totally in favor of getting it.
I don't usually get it, but this year, being pregnant my doctor wanted me to get it and I did. With everything going around, I am glad that I did; however, I know that is a controversial subject for some.

sorry to have bothered you... I did not see other posts of this as I am not on often... you did not have to respond to my post if it bothered you this much!
I would absolutely get it. I never do but my doctor told me I HAD to. She was absolutely insistent. Come to find out later why she was... one of her other patients had the flu and while she had the flu, the baby passed away. It could of been related to other issues, but she is adamant that all of her patients receive the shot.
It only takes 2 seconds and your shoulder hurts for 2-3 days. No biggie!

I am pretty sure all OB's & Midwives recommend getting one. this is one of the few things that's pretty standard about getting it done.
I get my flu shot every year regardless. I work in Car Sales, meet sick/non sick random people all day and have 2 school aged Step children. with a kid I would get in the habit of getting one. getting the actual FLU is AWEFUL.
I am not against or for the flu shot - it really comes down to your personal choice. I have never gotten the flu shot and so I have continued and I chose not to get it. It really is up to you. My doc didn't tell me I had too.
Get the shot. I'm not getting it but I have family histories of severe reactions. I haven't had one before and if I knew I wouldn't have a severe reaction, I would be getting one.
Edit for disclaimer: The reaction my family has is not typical at all. So seriously, GO GET THAT FLU SHOT.

you can see many posts about flu shots on this board in the past. It is really important to protect yourself and your baby
I agree ^^^^^^^ 100% what's the harm in protecting you and the baby? Plus our immune systems aren't as strong so any type of virus will linger longer than usual if you do catch something. Believe me you will NOT get the flu from the flu shot. If you end up getting the strand of the flu that's not covered by the shot then it wasn't the shot, it was the non-covered virus. There is a old wives tale that people get the flu from the shot and that's not true.
Sorry for posting again as I am not on this board often- sorry to have bothered some of you... I thought this was a friendly board...
Dont apologize or explain yourself. You have every right to post what you want! Flu shots are not the only thing that gets repeated! I got my flu shot. My doctor told me it's better to have it then get the flu. I am glad I did because I would be a nervous wreck walking around, but that is just me.

If you would have checked through posts from today and yesterday, this gets asked daily.
Get your flu shot.

Get your flu shot.
This.
I didn't mean to post three times. My phone had a spaz attack and major deja vu at the same time.
OMG, this. I am so sick of this question. Get the damn flu shot. The flu is more dangerous to you and your fetus than the shot. It's perfectly safe for pregnant women.
Why don't you ask your doctor?nbsp; He/she can probably give you more sound advice than an internet message board...
If that's the case, then many posters should refrain from posting. Many medical opinions are asked.
Yes, I do realize that. I didn't say anything about how people should not post medical questions on the board so I'm not sure where you got that from. I just suggested she talk to her doctor since it's a hot subject and people are on edge about it. But thanks for chiming in.
Re: to get the FLU shot or not?

If you feel its "this again" why bother to respond to a thread that bothers you?
I have seen tons & tons of the same threads but I refuse to be rude & write back "this again"...
